On Day 4, you'll embark on a scenic drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via the Shayok route, a journey that spans approximately 170-180 kilometers and takes around 6-7 hours. Departing early from Nubra Valley, you'll traverse through rugged landscapes, following the course of the Shayok River. The route, though shorter than alternatives like the Wari La Pass, offers stunning views of barren mountains, river crossings, and the occasional sighting of wildlife. The road can be challenging in parts, so caution is essential. Upon arrival at Pangong Lake, you'll be rewarded with the breathtaking sight of its turquoise waters set against the backdrop of towering mountains. After descending into the Leh Valley, your route will take you through Thiksey Monastery, a stunning hilltop structure resembling the Potala Palace in Tibet, where you can explore its ancient Buddhist art and panoramic views.
